Cat litter is mainly divided into the following types:

Bentonite cat litter: Made of bentonite as the main ingredient, it has strong clumping and covering ability and is relatively cheap. However, it may produce more dust when used, and the deodorizing effect is average

Crystal cat litter (silica gel cat litter): Made of silica gel, it looks like a small crystal ball, has good deodorizing ability and low dust volume. It will not stick to cats, but it is expensive and cannot be flushed into the toilet.

Tofu cat litter: Made of tofu dregs or natural plant fibers, it is environmentally friendly and degradable and can be flushed directly into the toilet. It is light in weight and has good clumping ability, but the ability to cover odors may be slightly weaker and the cost is relatively high.

Sawdust cat litter: Made of recycled wood, wheat straw, etc., it has good urine absorption and clumping ability, little dust, but has a certain wood smell, which some cats may not like.
Scrap cat litter: A part of it contains activated carbon, usually made from waste newsprint. Small particles, less usage, easy to identify wet parts, can be poured into the toilet, but the coagulation force is weak.
Mixed cat litter: It is usually a mixture of tofu cat litter and bentonite cat litter in a certain proportion, aiming to combine the advantages of both and provide a better use experience.
For urban cats, the most suitable type of cat litter needs to consider the following factors:

Space size: If the living space is limited, it is more appropriate to choose cat litter with less dust and good odor control, such as crystal cat litter.
Convenience: Considering the convenience of cleaning in urban apartments, tofu cat litter may be a better choice due to its environmentally friendly and flushable characteristics.
Budget: Choose according to personal economic conditions. Although tofu cat litter and crystal cat litter are more expensive, their performance is often better; bentonite cat litter is a cost-effective choice.
Cat preferences: Different cats have different preferences for cat litter. Some like delicate touch, while others may not like cat litter with a specific smell.
In summary, there is no one type of cat litter that is absolutely suitable for all urban cats. The best approach is to try several different types of cat litter, observe which one your cat prefers, and make adjustments based on the actual situation. At the same time, it is also very important to change the cat litter regularly and keep the litter box clean.
